Evaluating 2010 work for InCo organization!

2010 has been a positive year for InCo organization: full of challenges, of work, of new opportunities and great satisfaction! Numbers are numbers, but for us behind them there are our efforts in providing youngsters new possibility of growth - thus making this world a bit a better place.

Within the European Voluntary Service in 2010 InCo organization saw the approval of 5 projects from the Italian National Agency and from the Executive Agency (not bad, considering that altogether there are 5 deadlines, that the criteria are getting stricter and stricter, and that the financial support is getting less!). This means that only with these projects approval in 2010 we are coordinating directly 22 incoming volunteers involving 9 Italian partners (if we count the projects approved in 2009 which started in 2010 then the numbers increase!)

As to outgoing volunteers, currently we are coordinating 2 projects in Latin America (one was approved in 2010) with 12 volunteers. We also participated as sending organization in a number of different projects in Turkey, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece, Romania, and Germany.

In 2010 InCo got its 3° accreditataion to be able to participate in the program Youth in Action and directly supported 3 new Italian organizations. Other organizations are in contact with us and we hope that during 2011 we will be able to collaborate with more organizations and more volunteers!

The work going on in the "backstage" is huge...we answer all email we receive, and this meant that in 2010 we answered to over 1300 foreign youngsters who wanted to do EVS in Italy and around 470 Italian youngsters who wish to go abroad. This number grows a lot if we take into consideration the visits to the schools in collaboration with the Municipality of Trento and where we met 100 students; then we ran 6 info-days to promote EVS in Trentino (around 80 participants). InCo also participated in a Mini-fair on International Mobility promoted by the public offices in Trento.

Besides EVS, InCo coordinates also volunteers coming from German programs (FSJ e ADiA). During the last summer 34 new volunteers from Germany arrived to Italy, contributing to the work of 10 host organizations partner in Padua, Vicenza, Saronno, Morosolo, Verona, Chiusi, Sinalunga, and Bolzano.

For the first time InCo was able to host two interns (from CiEffe and the Master in Local Development): this was for sure an enriching possibility for both of us!

With the collaboration of interns and volunteers, InCo promoted its first photograph exhibition focusing on the project "Inhabitants of the World", an initiative to inspire new volunteers. The exhibition was hosted in Trento and Bressanone.

Last but not least, this Summer InCo collaborated with Opera Universitaria in Trento in hosting and promoting an exchange for 43 youngsters from Germany who came to Italy on a "“Study-holiday 2010” and Italian youngsters who went to Germany. Both groups had the chance to deepen their language and cultural knowledge.
