I came in Italy 6 months ago - time is flying…

I am currently in the middle of the project, which has already been full of adventures and amazing memories - but the best part is yet to come! When I came here I was not sure about my role and responsibilities, which is completely normal when the project is new. Several months later, after gaining experience and working in different environments I became more aware of my personality, interests and motivation. Now I know more about what I’m capable of and what I need to work on, what makes me excited while working and what can be a challenge. Being a volunteer feels like skipping the most stressful part of adulthood - gaining skills and experience for the career you’re aspiring to. I’m currently volunteering at a youth center where we spend time with young people, plan different activities based on their interests and provide educational support. Besides, I’m currently enrolled in activities at the local high school which makes me feel more alive than I’ve ever felt - having a possibility to inspire young people, share my knowledge to them and a feeling that my experience can be helpful for them in the future - this is all I dreamt about when I was younger! I’m trying to take care of my educational development as well and learning Italian is opening new doors for me. Traveling and admiring local masterpieces remind me of how lucky I am, which is getting stronger while spending time with people I’ve built meaningful relationships with - full of depth, trust and hope. Shortly said, this is how’s it going so far…
