ESC - UpDoo World

UpDoo World Association (www.updoo.it/world) is a non-profit organization founded in 2016, which mission is is to carry out social development projects using music as an engine for social inclusion, community development and transmission of cultural values.
The organization works to create a cultural bridge between different areas of our planet, promoting intercultural awareness and unity in the diversity. One of the activities of the centre is design the design and production of the low cost 'Chiquitica' guitar is a paradigm of this attitude, which is the basis of every activity of UpDoo World: for each guitar that the association sells in Europe another one is produced to be sent to the developing countries, this way creating a bridge where the two twin objects become means for the development of a relationship and not a simple economic transaction from richer countries to poorer but for philanthropic purposes.
Along with musical instruments production, our organization is active in the field of cultural awareness raising campaigns, organizing concerts and events, various musical projects and initiatives aiming to raise awareness on the problems of the developing countries, fundraising activities, support of the musical schools initiatives in deprived areas of the world.
Proposed activities for the volunteers:
- social media management (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter);
- creation of videos to be published on the association's web channels;
- support of a new website via Wordpress platform and its content creation, management of newsletters (Mailchimp);
- support of the staff of Centro musica at the shop of used musical instruments (publication of announcements, packing instruments, support in preparing the low cost 'chiquitica' guitar for sale; promotion of the sale of low-cost guitars both in Italy and abroad, support of a crowdfunding campaign for low-cost guitar (Kickstarter);
- support in promotion and management of the reservations for musical residences in the city Luserna, support of the staff in Luserna house management and musical workshop organization;
- support in organization of concerts, events, musical evenings, social and awareness raising campaign through music both on local level (when possible) and online (in streamings);
- support of the staff in coordination of the projects that support musical schools in Burundi and Cuba;
- support of logistics and technical support in the musical productions in the creative community of Kapuziner Strasse.
2 volunteers
You need to be aged between 18 and 30 years old and you should preferably be an EU citizen.
You don't need any previous experience or training in order to become a volunteer and carry on your activities in UpDoo World Association. We do not require a special musical or arts background, but we will appreciate sincere will and interest to learn the way music is connecting people.
The main criteria for selection are your motivation, interest to take part in the activities proposed, flexibility and open mind, tolerance and non-discriminative attitude.
You will get free accommodation for the whole duration of your voluntary service. You will live in a double room with shared bathroom, laundry facilities and a fully equipped kitchen with cooking facilities. You will share the apartment with other volunteers. The apartment is situated in the central area of the city of Rovereto (30 km from the city of Trento) with all necessary utilities around (supermarket, pharmacy, bus stop).
The volunteers receive a monthly food allowance.
Pocket money, according to the ESC guide standards in Italy are 150 euro per months (5 euro per day). Transport card is provided.
