As a host organisation for young people participating in ALMA projects promoted by sending organisations in other countries, InCo welcomes young trainees and supports them throughout their period of mobility here in Trentino.
Our association's initial involvement consists of identifying the most suitable internship position for each of the young people that the sending organisation involves in the ALMA programme. Based on the CVs shared with us, we identify the associations, organisations and local entities in Trentino that best match the profiles of the young people, both in terms of their studies and the professional fields of interest expressed by the young people themselves, also taking into account their hobbies and passions.
InCo then contacts local organisations with a proposal to collaborate in this programme and subsequently manages all the bureaucratic aspects of activating the internship with the Province. At the same time, InCo also takes care of finding accommodation for the group of interns. When the mobility programme begins, InCo takes care of the final logistical details of setting up the internship, introducing the young people to the entire mobility period, and accompanying each intern to the various host organisations on the first day of the internship.
In order to best support the young people's experience, InCo identifies a member of its staff to act as a tutor for the interns throughout the internship period, so that the group of interns always has a reference person for any doubts, questions or needs. The InCo tutor then plays a fundamental role in assisting, supporting and monitoring the interns' experience and progress.
In addition, InCo organises initial training to introduce the interns to their period of mobility in Trentino and to the local and cultural context, as well as to prepare the group of young people for the experience itself, working on individual and group expectations and objectives. Following this first group meeting, various group monitoring meetings are organised to accompany the young people throughout the internship period, supporting them in reflecting on the experience they are having and the skills they are developing, as well as in addressing any challenges or difficulties that may arise. In addition to these group meetings, trainees are offered the opportunity to book individual monitoring meetings, one-to-one with the InCo tutor. A final group meeting is then organised to evaluate the internship experience at the end of the mobility period.
In addition, InCo organises Italian language courses for young people, with an average frequency of three hours per week, to facilitate their integration both in the internship itself and in local social life.
Finally, every other weekend, group outings or group workshops are organised in the local area. The aim is twofold: to explore and introduce the region and province to trainees from abroad, and to help create a group among the young people, so that everyone feels part of a network of people who can provide support. In addition, the relationship between InCo tutors and trainees benefits greatly from these days of activities together, carried out in an informal setting, which in turn has a positive influence on group monitoring, as it helps to create a safe environment for the exchange of experiences, ideas and opinions.
