EVS is the best way to give a tiny piece of your heart and receive a great experience with unforgettable memories, which draw a smile on your face every time you think of them.

Hello! My name is Alesia and I come from Belarus. This year I spent 9 months as an EVS volunteer in a small yet cute Italian town Molfetta.

During my volunteering service, I was helping teachers in a Middle School of a neighboring town Bisceglie. Every day my partner and I were making English lessons more interesting and funny performing linguistic games and other informal activities.

I happened to be lucky and trap in Molfetta together with the other 15 volunteers from a variety of countries. Some of the volunteers spoke the same language as I did, and other volunteers’ language seemed farther from my mother tongue than the Earth from the sun. But still, we could find a common language. At the beginning it was English, but soon after everyone started to speak Italian and even local dialect Molfettese, which sounded hilarious and bold to us at the same time. All together we shared plenty of heart-warming moments such as Christmas choir, Cooking classes, and trips around Italy.

I came to Italy to help myself find a way in life, to help others, to make friends, to enjoy Italy and it’s food, and I got every inch of that, can’t ask for more. Such experience will never leave you the same person, it will make you kinder, smarter, more open and tolerant, and after a while, it will make you a new person, a new person with a couple of gained kilograms after unstoppable delicious pasta, pizza, and panzerotti.
