Semper Avanti Association is a Wrocław-based NGO established in 2001. We are characterized by experience in the implementation of various projects for the benefit of young people.

We operate mainly in three areas:
1. Youth in the labor market.
2. Supporting the development of civil society and youth participation.
3. Broadly understood tolerance and building intercultural dialogue.

Our team consists of active people, willing to take actions for the benefit of others, interested in working with young people, supporting and developing social involvement, involved in developing sensitivity and awareness of cultural differences in communities.
We carry out vocational training (VET) projects by accepting foreign interns and supporting schools in sending Polish students abroad. We host foreign volunteers as part of the European Solidarity Corps. We are the only point in the Opolskie Voivodeship, belonging to the network of Eurodesk information points. Get involved with us, change the city and region!

We invite you to take part in events organized by us, public events or meetings with foreign volunteers as part of ESC.

About Opole:

Opole is a city located in southern Poland on the Oder River and the historical capital of Upper Silesia. With a population of approximately 128,035 is the capital of Opole Voivodeship (province) and the seat of Opole County.

With its long history dating back to the 8th century, Opole is one of the oldest cities in Poland. It is also the smallest city in Poland to be the largest city in its province.

During the Medieval Period and the Renaissance the city was known as a centre of commerce due to its position on the intersection of several main trade routes, which helped to generate steady profits from transit trade.

The city's extensive heritage entails almost all cultures of Central Europe including years of Polish, Bohemian, Prussian and German rule. Opole formally became part of Poland again in 1945 under the Potsdam Agreement.

Today there are four higher education establishments in the city: The Opole University, Opole University of Technology, a Medical College and the private Higher College of Management and Administration.

Opole is sometimes referred to as "Polish Venice" , because of its picturesque Old Town and several canals and bridges connecting parts of the city.

The National Festival of Polish Song has been held here annually since 1963 and each year new regular events, fairs, shows and competitions take place. There are lots of attraction like the Zoological Garden, the Polish Song Museum, the Modern Art Gallery, events and festivals.

You can check it here: https://www.opole.pl/en/dla-turysty.

The Opole Voivodeship is a green region with three large lakes: Turawskie, Nyskie, and Otmuchów. The Opawskie Mountains are extremely popular. The region also includes the castle in Brzeg, the Franciscan monastery on top of Saint Anne Mountain, as well as the medieval defence fortifications in Paczków.

Opole is in between Wrocław (95km) and Katowice (105km). It is also close to the capital of Czech Republic and Germany, just 300km far from Prague and 425km from Berlin.

In this project volunteers will be placed in the main office of the Scout organization in the region. Every day work in office will be based on: creating and preparing forest meetings and camps, rallies, infographics and workshops.
