Volontariato ESC in Francia presso la Jules Lesven High School

The Jules Lesven high school is a general, technological and professional high school with 1400 pupils.
Volunteer's activities
The 2 volunteers will work at the student’s common house and at the information and documentation centre IDC
Activities at the IDC:
In close relation with the librarians, the 2 volunteers will:
- Welcome the pupils - Help in the electronic sorting, archiving and lending of books
- Organize workshops (on his country/culture,traditional holidays, etc.)
With the pupil’s dedicated space, the Cafeteria (called in French “breizh cafet”):
- Set up thematic workshops (fighting against discrimination, freedom of press, music, cinema, Europe, etc.)
- Find and contact external speakers, take part in meetings, set up projects with pupils
- Create slide shows and organise exhibitions on different topics (Arts, Culture, etc.)
- Participate in the classes (depending on the volunteer background/profile/skills): fight against harassment, introducing of his/her home culture

The volunteer should:
- Have basic skills in French are requested as well as
- have basic IT competencies
- be able to go out of his/her comfort zone to create a link with pupils
- have a good contact with youngsters
- have team work ability
- have the willingness to set up and lead activities
- be actively involved in the activities and dynamic
- have a strong motivation
- have an ability to take initiatives
Il progetto copre a titolo gratuito:
- vitto (ti verrà offerto un pocket money mensile per coprire le spese - 220 euro)
- alloggio
- viaggio di andata e di ritorno
- assicurazione medica Cigna
- trasporto pubblico locale
- corso di lingua
- un mentore di supporto
The 2 volunteers will be accommodated together in a renovated flat on the high school site. Each one will get his/her own bedroom and will share kitchen and bathroom with the other one.
