Emma's ESC experience coming to an end Blog
My year in Italy is slowly coming to an end: I’ve experienced so much, seen so much, and met so many people I’ll never forget.
When I look back on this time, I realize how much I’ve grown, how much has changed, and how wonderful it was. I can say that I will never forget this time. On the one hand, because I’ve seen so much of Italy—so many beautiful cities, gone on so many trips, learned the language, and immersed myself in the culture. It has been a wonderful enrichment for me, and I will always carry these adventures in my heart. From discovering various cities in northern Italy to traveling through the south and visiting Sicily. I am infinitely grateful and proud to have had the opportunity to experience all of this.
But on the other hand, I can say that this year wouldn’t have been nearly as wonderful without the people I’ve met here, who have made these trips and experiences so alive and unforgettable. In my job, I already have the opportunity to interact with others a lot and have made some wonderful connections, but I’m also happy to say that I’ve found a kind of family, especially in the other volunteers.
Cozy evenings, interesting conversations, and the best get-togethers and parties really defined this year. Thanks to these inspiring people, I’ve gained so much to take with me into my future.
Thank you so much and all the best—I hope you know how much you mean to me.
